My Wy encounter!!!
This page I dedicate to Wynonna. I have been a fan of the Wyld One now for 13 years. It all started when I was 9 years old and was listening to The Judds. When Naomi announced her retirement I was very saddened by the news. But soon after Wy announced she would continue on as a solo artist. I couldn't wait for her first solo album to come out. I had to beg my mom to get it for me. I loved and it and listened to it everyday. When her second album came out again I was there to get it. And my wait to see her in concert was over. I begged my parents to get me tickets to see her at the State Fair. They got them for me and the count down was on. I couldn't wait and when the day arrived I was so excited. It was in 1994 and it was close to the end of her tour before leaving on maternity leave with Elijah. It would be two years until I would see her again. The release of the Revelations album was anticipated(by me) and was in stores to get it the very day it came out. And on Sept 1,1996 I saw her again. This time buying the tickets myself. But not only did I drag my mom along but a friend from work(who loved the show and Wy). At that time I had been a fan club member for about two years(I got my membership with my very first pay check). I couldn't wait for WY to come back to my town again. It would be two years before she would make her way back to my town. The new album The Other Side was again totally awesome. I was there to buy it the day it came out and listened to it in my car first thing. I would see her again in concert on June 21,1998(Grace's B-Day). It was totally awesome. And again My mom, another friend from work, and the same friend who attended in 1996(she loved Wy and came back for more) And I couldn't wait for two years to pass before I saw her again. So on July 16,1998 I made my way to Cleveland to see her again. Only this time it was different I got to meet the gracious WY and it was the best day of my life and a dream come true. But I hadn't seen enough Wy yet and ventured my way to Louisville,KY on Aug 30,1998 to see Wy again and the show was better than ever. But it was different because I got to meet a email friend(Misty) for the first time. It was a great day and it was nice to meet a fellow Wy nut. As I promised you always go back for more and that I did. In June I went to Wy's fan club party, seen her at the Q&A at the Big Kmart in Franklin, Tn and then at fan fair in Nashville. But of course that wans't enough and On Aug 5,1999 we ventured to Kettering,Oh and saw her Wyness in concert again but this time I not only did I go but I took my Best friend Andrea with me as a present for her birthday.(And she loved the show who couldn't first concert and you are in the third row.) And Amy went with us another very good friend who I met through Wy's fan club and as always we had a blast. I was in stores on February 1,2000 to get her new album and i must say it was awesome. But of course Wy always is. There was a announcement that her and Naomi would do a short tour called the Power to Change tour. And I Just had to see it. The only place close to me was Lexington,Ky and I talked my mom and dad into going. Amy was going to go but couldn't make it so I had to do some sweet talking.LOL Though we made it and on April 7,2000 I finally got to see the Judds in concert for the first time. It was totally AWESOME!!!!! They also filmed the concert to be put on as a concert special and there were cameras everywhere. We were recorded but never thought we would make the cut. Well if you watched the concert i'm sure you got a glimpse of me and my mom all you have to look for is the Ohio license place that says WyFan 1 and you've found me.LOL Well I couldn't believe it when they added a second leg of the concert and they were coming to Columbus,Ohio. And you better believe I was there.And of course Amy,Mike and my mom was also there. The concert was awesome and it was Amy's first time to see the Judds to. We of course had a blast that we always do. I got to meet Misti who i met from the fan club but also because she visited my homepage and found out I was from Ohio the same as she is.
Here we go again..LOL Well I finally got to see Wynonna this year. So on June 14,2001 me,Amy, and Mikey ventured off to Louisville,Ky to see her Wyness. The trip was just hilarious as anything because of course Mikey kept us entertained. The concert was just as awesome as ever. I mean come on it's a Wy concert. At this concert I finally got to meet Bonnie and Shep. I guess I couldn't hide from Shep any longer and she found me.LOL It was great getting to meet them and i'm looking for to going to another concert with them.
So here I wait again for the next concert. And who knows when it will be. I just keep checking every avenue out and hoping that something new will be added. New Wy music is just looming!!! She's in the studio and working hard on the next album. And something new is coming out in July with Huey Lewis..YAHOOO!!!!!! You all just keep listening and requesting!! Wynonna Rules!!!!
An Inspiration!
Having been a loyal fan of WY's for 13 years she has been a very good inspiration to me. Through her songs and just being herself. Wy has gotten me through many tough times in my life. Helped me in making decisions and has helped me to grow stronger in my faith. It is totally awesome that a performer can aknowledge GOD in her concert and raise her hands to him. Wy is strong in faith and proudly displays it in everything she does.
Her music is unexplainable. Those who listen know what I am talking about when I say that Wy's music is soul filling. No matter what the day has been like you can always pop(any) Wy album in the stereo and it is like amazing. You soul and spirit is on a high.
You have to hear Wy to be able to experience it the way that I have and other fans. As far as I am concerned there is no one better that the Wyld One herself WYNONNA!!!!!!
