William W. Carter

William W. Carter was born January 14, 1825 in the state of Kentucky. On the 19th day of August in 1855 he was married to Cyrena Jane Reynolds. The wedding took place in Garrard County, Kentucky. William Carter's parents were Toliver and Sarah Carter. He died on the 19th of April, 1879 in Greenfield, Greene County, Illinois. He is buried in the Providence Cemetery in Greene County.

Cyrena Jane Reynolds was born February 9, 1837 in the State of Kentucky the daughter of Elizabeth Anne Lewis and Toliver Reynolds. She passed away on February 12, 1913 in Carrollton, Greene County, Illinois. She was buried on the 13th in Providence Cemetery, Greene County, Illinois.

William Carter was married before to a lady whose first name was Sarah (last name unknown)

William and Cyrena moved to Greene County, Illinois some time shortly after their marriage in 1855 and settled there to raise their family.



James Thomas Carter


 
James Thomas Carter ~ was born on March 3, 1860 in Greene County, Illinois, he married Annie Elizabeth Foley on the 13th day of September, 1883 at Carrollton, Greene County, Illinois.  She was the daughter of Abraham Marion Foley and Margaret Ann Pointer.

James Carter died February 24, 1923 at Carrollton, Greene Co., Illinois and is buried in the Mount Gilead Cemetery, located west of Carrollton.

Annie Elizabeth Foley was born in Greene County, Illinois.  She died July 27, 1895 in Greene County, Illinois and is buried there.

Children of Annie Elizabeth and James T. Carter:

Ada Leah Carter, born August 31, 1885 in Carrollton, Greene County, Illinois.  She was married to Julius August Schneider, she died December 4, 1935.

Roy Clinton Carter, born July 22, 1888 in Greene County, Illinois. He died January 8, 1950.

Minnie May Carter, born December 26, 1891 in Greene County, Illinois. She died December 28, 1982, and is buried in Jerseyville, Illinois.  Minnie Carter was married to Pearle Dabbs.

William "Willie" Carter, born 1894, he died 1895.
