TSO BOWLING TOURNEY 2006

Saturday April 1

Hello!

We feel very fortunate today to let you know about something very exciting that is about to happen, something that could change the very lives of some determined Toronto Special Olympics Athletes. We are talking about the World Olympics Games where Toronto athletes get the opportunity to represent our great country and try their very best to bring home gold.

Imagine discovering your limits weren’t where people told you they were and all your dreams as a Special Olympics athlete came true. We need to come together and share in this celebration that brings the world together, but before an athlete goes to the Worlds Games they first attend the Canadian National Games and these games are fast approaching. Six months from now on July 18th 2006, nine of our athletes are getting on a plane to Brandon Manitoba to represent Toronto Special Olympics.

They are training, planning and waiting for the chance to make us proud and be the first Toronto Athletes to go to a Worlds Games. I have talked with the athletes and they speak of this opportunity in a “WE” capacity, they see this as an opportunity to represent their home community and they are going to give it 110% for us to make us proud.

We urge you to join me on Saturday April 1st, 2006 for a Toronto Nationals Celebration and Fundraiser. The goal of the day is to raise $10,800.00 to send our Toronto athletes to the National Games. The Toronto Community Council and Toronto Fundraising Committee are organizing a Bowling Fundraiser, so make your teams and show your support. For all you Raptors fans we have some good news Power Forward Chris Bosh has decided to come out and show his 110% support of Toronto athletes. So mark it in your calendar, get your team ready and let’s show our athletes that Toronto Special Olympics is behind them 110%.
