Buddy ~ in Northern California

This sweet and loving Silky is named Buddy.

He is about 8-9 years-old. We don't know exactly because he was found wandering the streets of Sacramento. Buddy is a survivor.

You see, he is blind and yet survived on his own on the streets. He is a big boy - about 16 pounds - and neutered.

He would love to find a forever home.

Buddy is very well behaved and loves nothing more than snuggling on the sofa and getting belly rubs and lots of love. And a good roll and back scratch on the floor! He is sweet, loving, and friendly.

He can walk on a leash with a halter, but needs some guidance so he doesn't bump into things on his walk. At home, once he knows where everything is located, he gets around great. Being blind doesn't slow him down!

He gets along well with other dogs, but doesn't really play with them. He is fine on his own and likes to lounge a lot anyway.

Buddy is totally housebroken. He has never had an accident in his foster mom's house and knows how to use a dog door if one is available.

He is good with people, but has not been around children in his foster home. But there is no reason to think he would not be okay with them. He is the mellowest dog his foster mom has ever had.

Buddy has some health considerations. He has a low thyroid function and takes daily thyroid medication. He has a chronic skin condition that simply requires weekly baths with a medicated shampoo. If he gets itchy, a quick shot at the vet takes care of it. But with this regular regime, he looks and feels great.

Buddy is up-to-date on his shots. He is currently on heartworm prevention.

Does Buddy sound like the right boy to join your family and capture your heart?
