Channa Masala

Channa dhal(white)-1&1/2 cups
Onions -2 (big)
Tomatoes -3
Green chillies - 5
Chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil - 1 tbsp
Ginger,garlic paste-3/4 tbsp each
Coconut extract - 1cup
corriander leaves for flavour

Soak dhal overnight. Pressure cook dhal with little salt. Take 3 tbsp of cooked dhal and grind to a thick paste. In a sauce pan, heat oil and fry onions,ginger garlic paste. Then add green chillies, tomatoes, chilly powder, turmeric powder, salt,little water and bring it to boil. To this add the cooked dhal,ground dhal paste, coconut extract. Garnish with corriander leaves when boiling.
