RyuBuKan Dojo

News for October, 1999! 

10/2/99 -- Our dojo was honored with a seminar given by Renshi (Senior Teacher) Mike McGowen who instructed us in fundamentals of the Doshinkan school of karate. Renshi McGowen is a long-time student of martial arts who proved himself as a generous and knowledgeable teacher. The most important lesson he shared was the need to continually train in the basics, never sacrificing technique for speed or expediency. Renshi's explanations of technique and correct form are applicable at all levels of experience, and his display of Doshinkan kata was impressive.

On behalf of the entire RyuBuKan Dojo family, I would like to express our sincere appreciation for Renshi McGowen's kindness and contributions, and we look forward to his next opportunity to train with us.
