I met Karl Anthony Hunt ( lumbee artist)at my first Pow Wow
Karl Anthony Hunt  is an artist who celebrates his Lumbee
heritage. He likes to depict the pride of Lumbee accomplishments without help from the government.
"When people don't know who they are or where they came from... a whole lot don't matter to them anymore..." Karl Anthony Hunt

Lumbee Indian Proverb
"Pray to understand what a man has forgotten."
What we should see in others is their identity as they see it. The Lumbee Indians are Indian not because they have a certain blood type or DNA. They are Indian because that is their identity.

"Everything I view I view from Lumbee eyes. Because that's who I am. That's the essence of who I am..." David Wilkins (Lumbee) SHATTERING THE SILENCES Transcript
