John Denver filled up my senses and made me aware of and appreciate
the beautiful earth in which I live. My love for him and his music started
when I heard his words "Leaving on a Jet Plane". That song made me think
back of boarding the plane for my flight to Danang, Vietnam to serve my
country. His song "Back Home Again"made me think back about how joyous
I was when I returned home from the Vietnam war.He truely made me a "Country
Boy"when I heard him sing "Take Me Home, Country Roads". He caused me to
have a "Rocky Mountain High" with his desription of "Grandma's Feather
Bed". The "Sunshine On My Shoulders"was how I was positioned while I took
some great pictures as I drove thru the Colorado Rockies celebrating my
25Th anniversary in the Fall of 1996. Before my departure on that cross
country trip, my wife and I had the best time at a John Denver concert
at the Valley Forge Music Fair just outside of my hometown Philadelphia.
Though the Valley Forge Music Fair is no longer standing and John Denver
is no longer with us, his songs and memory will always take me on that
fantastic voyage of the"Calypso". You will be missed dearly John. God Bless
You...
Music does bring people together; it allows us to experience
the same emotions. People everywhere are the same in heart and spirit.
No matter what language we speak, what color we are, the form of our politics
or the expression of our love and our faith, music proves: We are the same."Words
