Presentation Notes:

Good Evening, I'd like to focus your attention on an environment disorder that has been around, undiagnosed for a long time, and is appearing more and more in our society. I'd also like to present you with a challenge. The challenge that I am about to present you, is for you to look around, and see if you recognize this disorder. And if, as I suspect, you recognize individuals you've known, that you suspect may have had AD, rather than another disorder, then ask yourself, "What could I have done differently to alter the events of today? What can I do to help change things?"

"Sometime during our lives, we will all cross paths with attachment disordered individuals. They might charm us. They might con us. They might shock us with unconscionable cruelty. They are the face of our future, and it is a frightening face.

Appropriate intervention is necessary if the cycle of abuse breeding abuse is to be broken. We as parents, educators, social workers, therapists, and law enforcement and legal professionals must learn to recognize the voice that cries out for help. For acknowledgment. For understanding" ("Dont Touch My Heart," Gianforte-Mansfield & Waldmann).
