·Religion: Reconciliation, Beatitudes, Ten Commandments, Sacraments, Saint Reports. Recognized that all God’s creations are good.
·Language Arts:
*Reading: Comprehension, point of view, identify, locate and extract information to develop a report.
*English: Reference skills, research reports
*Grammar: Write response to literature, paragraphs, essays, write on specific topics.
*Spelling: Spell high frequency words as well as words from the spelling program and from content areas as necessary. Use of dictionary and rules of punctuation and capitalization.
·Handwriting: Cursive
·Math: Long division, multiplication, fractions, decimals and geometry, pictographs/bar graphs (Saxon Math Program) This is a spiral program which skills are built upon prior knowledge.
·Music: Song and instruments
·Computers: Keyboarding and word processing, hyper studio
·Science: Plant cell, geology and electricity, Earth science
·Social Studies: California in pre-Columban times, early settlers, California Missions, (California History).
·Art: Art Enrichment, art projects are integrated within the curriculum.
·Physical Education: Team sports, individual skills, sportsmanship, relays, organized games in preparation for “Romero Games”.
HIGHLIGHTS
Christmas Program, reenactment of the Stations of the Cross, weekly Mass and Rosary, Choir, Bell Choir. Field trips: San Juan Baptista and Carmel Missions, Path of the Padres, local museum and others related to the curriculum. Ice Cream Social, Talent Show, Grandparent’s Day, Science Fair,
Speech Contest, Writing Festival, Spelling Bee, Plays and Altar Server.
