The owner of three NBA Championship rings with the Los Angeles Lakers, James Worthy will always be remembered for his breathtaking athletic ability, blinding speed and one-handed tomahawk dunks.Worthy joined the Lakers in 1982 after being drafted out of North Carolina with the top pick in the 1982 NBA Draft, only a few months after winning an NCAA championship with the Tar Heels. Worthy, who teamed with Michael Jordan and Sam Perkins at UNC, was a First-Team All-American as a junior and was also named Final Four MVP for 1982.

We're 'off-air' with James Worthy and Michael Jordan in the NBC Broadcast Center for this New Year's Day Inside Look at the Jambalaya Bears. While the commercials play themselves out, James and Michael had a chance to catch up on the latest happenings...


James : We sure took care

of Peter and Isiah didn't we?

Mike : We sure did James. AND...

we even stole Cheryl Miller from TNT Sports.

Hmm...we gonna have to fix that TNT sign soon.

Move over Hannah Storm. Our girl's gonna whip

your butt.

Cheryl Miller : Ain't nobody's gonna whup

nobody's butt Mike. You dissin my sister Hannah?

Mike : Today we're gonna look at

and we're doing it with my buddy Big Game

James Worthy - who is er...sitting in...
