Meredith was born the second oldest in a large family (four sisters and three brothers) in the smallest province in Canada - Prince Edward Island. Since the opportunity for solitude was rare in such a large family, she escaped from hectic reality into the private world of books. While a pre-teen, she discovered romance novels. And she's devoured them ever since!

Meredith brings a diverse background in the arts, media and business to her writing. She has been a model, stage actress, movie actress - she will appear in the premiere episode of DARING AND GRACE, a new series about teenage detectives that's scheduled to be broadcast this fall on CBC-TV and/or YTV (in Canada). She plays the role of Mrs. Alvirez, a suburban housewife whose teenage daughter has disappeared.

As well, Meredith has been a radio personality, a writer/producer of television commericals, director of marketing for a regional shopping centre, director of marketing for a regional tourist complex, editor and managerof regional business newspapers, a freelance newspaper and magazine writer, and an entrepreneur!

Due to her love of travel which was spurred by a high school exchange trip to Alberta when she was 16, Meredith has lived in 7 of Canada's 10 provinces. She has attended Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia; studied acting at York University in Toronto and the Banff School of Fine Arts in Banff, Alberta, and graduated from Ryerson University in Toronto with her Bachelor of Applied Arts in Radio and Television.

While at Ryerson University, Merdith shared the CFCF Media Writing Scholarship. Although a professor recommended she consider writing romances, Meredith chose to continue pursuing her acting/media career. She worked as an on-air personality for CFCY and Q93 radio stations, in Charlottetown, where she made her professional writing debut scripting and voicing radio commercials.

Subsequently, Meredith spent three years writing and producing television commercials for the Atlantic Television Network (ATV) in Moncton, New Brunswick. She then diversified her writing skills into director of marketing for Champlain Place Shopping Centre and, subsequently, at Crystal Palace. In order to spend more time with her two young children, Meredith founded her home-based business, Ghostwriters Marketing & Communications. As she says, she has "written everything from advertising copy to video scripts."

At the same time, Meredith also decided to pursue her creative writing and, in the spring of 1993,won an honorable mention for a children's story she wrote. In the summer of 1993, Meredith co-founded Marshlands Romance Writers and, the following summer attended RWA's national conference in New York City.

In 1996, two of her submissions were short-listed for a CBC-TV drama project. Subsequent to the rejection of her first romance, targeted to Harlequin Superromance, she began work on her second manuscript, "The Rocky Ridge Man", which she sold to Harlequin Temptation in June, 1998. The book is set in Calgary, Alberta and on a ranch in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.

Meredith shared her love for the mountains with her husband during their honeymoon in the Canadian Rockies. Currently, they reside in Moncton, New Brunswick with their two children. Meredith and her family now find solitude by escaping totheir rustic cabin which overlooks the spectacular Bay of Fundy and Fundy National Park.
