The Institute for Balkan and European Researches is a private institute, founded in Sofia in 1993. Its subject are: comparative studies of European and Balkan criteria for human rights as well, as of the conditions of coexistence for communities and individuals belonging to different ethnic groups in a state; fixing economical, political and ethnological differences and similarities between Balkan peoples; researches of foreign influences on Balkan states in their striving for integration in Europe. We study the integral dimensions of religious interactions and religious hostilities in the Balkan region. We organize meetings and seminars on the Balkan problems as well as the problems concerning European integration.
