Commentary Review:

J. Massyngberde Ford's
Revelation

Offered by DO

J. Massyngberde Ford made the news in the seventies with her proposal that the John of the Book of Revelation was John the Baptist. In her commentary for the Anchor Bible series, she proposes that chapters 1-3 are a Christian introduction and that chapters 4-11 is the revelation to John the Baptist; she further proposes that chapters 12-22 are an addition by a disciple of John the Baptist and that the whole book is a Jewish apocalyptic work adopted by the Christian community with the introduction.
