Very engaging intro. The "Presidential motorcade" illustration gets us

thinking about the fanfare, etc. of the Triumphal entry, the detailed

planning, the historical groundedness. Good "distancing" to that other

horizon of the first century situation. As you say, we can't impose our

politics onto the gospel--try as we might-- but as you point out, it is

a political statement in that it addresses us concerning the core issues

of human existence. Your conclusion transitions us to the events of Holy

Week, especially Good Friday, and the cross-bearing to which we are

called daily as disciples.
