RLD

I have finished my exegetical notes and sermon outline for John 3:1-17 for February 24, 2002.

I continue to work on all the steps in the historical-homiletical work method, and it is taking a significant amount of time to complete. I do not believe I have time to go much deeper into any of the steps each week. However, I feel I am benefitting from the amount of work I am doing. I am especially enjoying following the scripture references in the outer margins of the Nestle NT.

At this point, I am trying to complete my notes on Mondays and Tuesdays. On Wednesdays, I write the preliminary outline for the sermon based on the previous days' notes. Then, on Thursday, I pick up the sermon outline for the upcoming Sunday and begin to get it ready to preach, taking into account the responses of the DMin webpage. This schedule worked this week, even though we had a very busy week in the Church. However, I have not yet had time to respond to the new sermons and notes appearing on the webpage.
