Text: I Corinthians 1:10-18

Title: Unbroken Name

Introduction

A well-known Korean poem is recited: "cho-hon" by So-Wall Kim.

The poem is about the name of the lover who passed away recently.

The poem starts with the famous phases:

The name, the broken into pieces

The name, scattered in the air

The name, nobody's name for call

The name, I will call to my death

In analysis of the poem, the meaning of the name is exposed.

Name means being. Name means what the name has done: the history of someone who had that name.

Text

The divisions occurred in the church of Corinth according to the names: Paul, Apollos, Cephas, and Christ.

Paul, Apollos, and Cephas are the great leaders of the church.

They have the beautiful names to be remembered.

However, whose name is the name of the living being, the living leader of the church?

Paul, Apollos, and Cephas passed away a long time ago.

Jesus is still alive and will be forever just like the name of God, Yahweh.

Which name died for you?

To which name are you associated through baptism?

Jesus was crucified for you.

And so, we are baptized in the name of Jesus.

That's why Paul admonishes that everyone belongs to the name, Jesus.

Application and conclusion

The name, Jesus, has power and authority.

Jesus is the leader of Christian church.

Why?

None of us has the name of the eternal being.

However, Jesus lives.

None of us has history for cause of Christian church.

Jesus is the cause and reason.

Think about the life of Jesus, what He had done!

The name means the life.

Let's put aside our names!

And be united in the name of Jesus
