C. ROUGH TRANSLATION
(JFC)
37 And on the last day, the great day of the festival, Jesus stands up
and cried out, saying, let him come to me and drink.
38 the one believing in me, just as the scripture said, "out of the belly
of him rivers of living water will flow."
39 This he said concerning the Spirit, that which was destined for the
ones having believed in him, for the spirit was not yet, because Jesus was
not yet glorified.
(DH)
37 But on the last day, the great day of the festival, Jesus stood
(pluperfect) [there] and cried out, saying: "If someone thirsts, let
him/her come to me and let him/her drink! 38 The one who believes in
me, just as the Scripture said, from within him/her will flow rivers of
living water." 39 But this he said concerning the Spirit who/which the
ones who believed in[to] him were about to receive. For not yet was [there]
[the] Spirit, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
John 20:19-23
(DH) ROUGH TRANSLATION
19 When being evening on that day, the first one of the Sabbath(s), and
the doors having been shut where the disciples were because of the fear of
the Jews, Jesus came and stood in[to] the middle, and he is saying to them:
"Peace [be] to [with] you!" 20 And having said this, he showed the
hands and the side to them. Then the disciples rejoiced, having seen the
Lord. 21 Then, Jesus said to them again: "Peace [be] to [with] you!
Just as the father has sent me [with a commission], I am sending you (pl.)
also." 22 And after saying this, he breathed on them and he is saying
to them: "Receive [the] Holy Spirit! 23 If you forgive the sins of
any, they are forgiven to them, if you hold [the sins] of any unforgiven,
they are unforgiven."
