James Ardiel Elementary School's Parent Advisory Council Society performs a vital role in our school
community. The PAC meets on the second Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the school library to
discuss issues related to the educational programming at James Ardiel. Acting as a lobby, liaison and
fundraising body, the PAC assists whenever possible with the development of the educational and
physical resources of the School, including the development or acquisition of teaching aids, playground
facilities, and other amenities. The PAC also cooperates and works with the District Parent Advisory
Council (D-PAC) and the B.C. Confederation of Parent Advisory Councils (BCCPAC) to ensure the
educational and administrative practices within the province are conducted and offered to the highest
possible standard.

Most parents would agree that having children in school is a learning experience!
However, with the ever increasing participation of parents in all aspects of education this saying has taken on new meaning. Parents are involved in conferences, professional development, and many other activities that help increase their knowledge about the education system as well as about their own child.  Helping out in the school and being part of your children's schools' Parent Advisory Council and D-PAC gives you a strong voice in your children's education as well as increasing your own knowledge. "We at the JAPACS would like to extend an invitation to you as parents to get involved with your school's Parent Advisory Council. Every school in the district has a PAC so ask when and where the meetings are held."
