ITEM TWO

Is it Civil War? NO

Infantry Horn

This is an infantry enlisted men's hat insignia adopted in 1872. In 1872 all the hat insignia were redesigned to be placed on the front of the forage cap (kepi). This required that they be reduced in size. In 1875 infantry adopted crossed rifles and the surplus infantry horns were issued to infantry and artillery field musicians until 1896.
