Enlisted Men's Clothing Allowance
Union Soldier's Clothing Allowance
(from Form 52)
This is the allowance for issued clothing for the Civil War Union soldier. Were he to draw items above this allowance
he would be charged. The leather stock was a leather collar cut to fit under the chin. It was unpopular and rarely drawn.
Despite this it remained regulation for many years.
