Esbats
Esbats are also kknown as the Full Moon Rites. These are to be done
at night, under the full moon, if possible.
Arrange the alter, cast the circle and call the four corners, as you
would with other rituals. Then call the Goddess and God. Next gaze
at the moon and feel its energy infusing your body and chant:
I pray by the moom,
I pray by the moon,
I pray by the moon.
Visualize the Goddess and continue chanting. Now is the time for
magic of all types, for the full moon marks the heoght of its power.
This is the most powerful time for all women.
When finished, thank the Goddess and God and release the circle.
Wondrous Lady of the Moon,
You who greet the dusk with silvery kisses;
Mistress of the night and of all magics,
Who rides the clouds in blackened skies,
And spills light upon the cold Earth;
O Lunar Goddess,
Crescented-One,
Shadow maker and shadow breaker;
Reveler of mysteries past and present;
Puller of seas and ruler of Woman;
All-wise Lunar Mother,
I greet Your celestial jewel
At the Waxing of its power
With a rite in Your honor.
