Circle Casting and Dispersing

The Four Corners, Elements and Colors:

North - Earth - Green
East - Air - Yellow
South - Fire - Red
West - Water - Blue

Place four colored candles (or large stones) in the appropriate direction surrounding the area you wish to include in the circle. This can be as little and five feet or as large as twenty-five feet.

Next, Set up the alter. Light the candles, light the incense and bless the water with the Athame and the following incantation:

"I consecrate and cleanse this water that it may be purified and fit to dwell within the sacred circle. In the name of the Mother Goddess and the Father God, I consecrate this water."

See the Athame dispelling all negitivity from the water.

Next comes the salt:

"I bless this salt that it may be fit to dwell within the sacred circle. In the name of the Mother Goddess and Father God, I bless this salt."

Face the North with the Athame at waist level and walk around the circle's boundaries clockwise, everyone visualizes the circle being formes. As this is being done, repeat:

"Here is the boundary of the circle. Naught but love shall enter in, Naught but love shall emerge from within. Charge this by your powers, Old Ones!"

When the circle is formed, take the salt (starting in the North)and sprinkle it around the circle in a clockwise direction. The same is done with the incense and water. The circle is now sealed.

Now you need to call the elemental spirits to join your group. Recite the following incantation while holding the wand above your head, facing the direction that you are calling:

"Oh, watcher of the North,, gaurdian of all the Earth. We call upon you to join our circle tonight and join in our magical workings and spiritual endeavors."

"Oh watcher of the East, gaurdian of the Air and all that inhabits the skies. We call upon you to join our circles tonight and join in our magical workings and spiritual endeavors."

"Oh watcher of the South, guardian of the Heat and Fire. We call upon you to join our circle tonight and join in our magical workings and spiritual endeavors."

"Oh watcher of the West, guradian of the Water, Lakes, and Oceans. We call upon you to join our circle tonight and join in our magical workings and spiritual endeavors."

With each direction, visualize the energy of each element:

North - a greenish mist
East - a yellowish mist
South - a redish mist
West - a bluish mist

*** To leave the circle for any reason after the circle has been cast, requires a doorway to be "cut" into it. This is done with the Athame. Visualize a doorway being cut and the energy baing absorbed into the handle of the knife. To reform the seal, release the energy and reseal along the same cut.

To Disperse the Circle

Face North with the wand held the same as the calling of the elements and recits:

"Farewell, spirit of the North. Thank you for your presence on this night. Go in Power."

Repeat for each element.

Now, take the Athame and pierce the sphere at waist level and move clockwise around the circle. Feel the energy being pulled back into the knife and handle. When you come back to the North, the circle is no more.
