What began several years ago as a personal protest against the horrendously high taxes
our governments apply to commercially made wine soon turned into a very enjoyable hobby
and we have been hobby-winemaking ever since. While we have made wine "from scratch"
using fresh fruit and varietal juices, our normal method is to use "Wine Kits". We
discovered that with a minimal investment in equipment, a modicum of labour and a little
tender loving care we could produce a wide variety of really quite drinkable wine, at a
fraction of the cost of commercially produced wine.
THE CELLAR...
In addition to our common, everyday "drinking swill" which we refer to as (red, white and
rose) Table Wine, which are more or less on-the-go pretty much all of the time, the Wine
List below details the contents of the Cellar. While we don't claim that all of these
varieties are there all of the time, we have made each and every one of them, and we do
try to squirrel away a couple of bottles from each batch. The rest get served with that
special dinner (I fancy myself as a bit of a gourmet cook also !!), or used as "host-gifts"
when we visit friends, acquaintances and other family members.
