This included dividends of bank stock. Mary was to receive $1,000 a year from the estate, $500 a year quarterly if she survived the childrens majority. Son William to receive $4,000, friend Almira Shields, $100. The remaining children were to receive an equal share of the remaining distribution. Page 5 gives the inventory on 5 June 1840. This included contents of three stores: Milton, Edinburg, and Columbus. The residence in August 1855 was $16,028.76. Page 52 lists widow Mary. Children: Amanda who married William Wells of Madison; William M.; Eliza who married Howard J. Collins; George H. Dutton; Sophronia Dutton; Stephen L. Dutton; Oscar H. Dutton, and Mary L. Dutton. Amanda died by 1855 leaving two children: William D. Wells and Benjamin Wells. George had died unmarried with no issue. William Wells was guardian of his children.
