ABA Resources Autism and behavioral intervention surveys

Babies under 9 months with an older sibling with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their mother are needed for a study examining maternal synchrony and joint attention abilities in infants with an older sibling diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) compared to infants without an older sibling with an ASD. Mothers will be asked to complete several questionnaires. The older sibling will participate in a standardized autism diagnostic assessment. During this visit or a second visit, the infant sibling will participate in developmental assessments and play-based interactions with our researchers. Total participation time is expected to take 2.5-3 hours. $30 compensation, free parking, and written feedback from the older sibling?s assessment will be provided. In addition, infants will be closely monitored for signs of autism, and parents will be notified of clinical concerns related to ASD and referred for appropriate services in the community. If interested, please call 471-5414 to set up an appointment. This study is being conducted by Bridget Gamber and Rebecca Neal, Ph.D. (University of Texas)

MGH's Transcend Research group is looking for healthy children between 5 and 13 to participate in our study to find out more about ASD. For more information please visit our website at www.transcendresearch.org.

We are participating in a large research project aimed at Unraveling the Mystery of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs). The researchers belong to the ASD - Canadian-American Research Consortium (ASD-CARC), headed by Dr. Jeanette Holden from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. This group of more than 60 researchers, clinicians and parents are hoping to study tens of thousands of families in order to identify the genes and environmental factors that contribute to causing these conditions.

We hope that you will consider participating in this study - they are looking for families with someone with an ASD, as well as families without anyone with an ASD (known as "control families").

If you wish to learn more or to participate, please visit www.AutismResearch.com.
