A Thought

How can so many lives be entertwined,
Yet ours never seem to meet?
We follow each other to the ends of the earth,
But fear seems to keep us apart.
Fear of what, I'll never know.
It's those few times, though,
When our eyes touch and our souls embrace,
That keep my hope barely kindled,
And my heart anxiously fluttering,
Wondering if you don't really love me.
I know God has laid our paths for us,
Although sometimes I just can't help
But want ours to join forever.
