A Little Girls Dream
Growing up the people who lived by us had horses and I remember always wanting to ride them I was only 4 or 5. I remember my mom saying you stay a way from those horses they will hurt you. I never payed much attention to mom I would sneak out and go over to the fence and set and watch the horses for hours. To get them to come over to the fence I would make funny noises and they would come to the fence where I could feed them grass. I kept telling my Mom and Dad I wanted a horse and they would just let it go in one ear and out the other. So I would sneak out to be with the neighbors horses. My Grandmother would come and help us put up green beans and seyt on our swing and tell us my sisters and I stories about our mom and her sisters riding the work horses they had. Well we found out mom and her sisters would take Grandpaws horses down on the river banks and stand up and canter them and Grandmother watched the little toeheads bobing up and down the tree line. I thought to my self thats why Mom and Dad don't want to get me a horse cause they think I will do the same thing. I pleaded and begged and promised I wouldn't do that if only they would get me a horse. No way they told me. So all I had was my dreams of having a horse. In the summer I remember I would watch the clouds and dream they were horses with mane and tail flying in the sky some of the clouds did look like horses. Come Christmas time every one ask what I wanted and I told them farm trucks and horses. Johnny West and Jane West and chief Cherokee.So they would get those for me thinking I would out grow horses which I never did. I was around 9 years old and finly my dream came true my Uncle gave me my first pony. The years that followed I had a welsh pony. then I got married and I got my first horse which was a half arab, and then came Blaze. When we had our firse child I sold blaze I didn't have any time to spend with him. It had been 15 years sence I had a horse and then we got Poco. Poco has been with us going on 4 years now and they have been the best years of my life. Before we moved to the new place we Got Dava as a pasture buddy for Poco. Now I have two horses again.
