Tablet in Holy Trinity Church, Murree - "In memoriam Samuel
Hugh James Davies Colonel Bengal Staff Corps, served with his
regt. with the 51st N.I. during the Gwalior and Sutlej Campaigns
and at the siege of Mooltan entered the D.P.W. in the Punjab in
1854, and under his supervision the Murree Church was completed.
Was transferred in 1867 to Assam as Supt. Engineer, and died
there on the 22nd June 1869, aged 49 years. This tablet is
erected by his sorrowing brothers and sisters in token of their
love and affection."

Born 30 June 1750, son of Thomas and Janet Dundas. M.P for Orkney
and Shetland 1771-80, 1784-90. Died in Guadeloupe of yellow
fever. He was buried
at Fort Maltilde, Guadelope. When the French retook the island,
his remains were desecrated on the order of the French commander.
Tablet in Trinidad - "To the memory of Major-General Thomas
Dundas, who, with great professional abilities and with a mind
generous and brave, fell a sacrifice to his zeal and exertion in
the service of his King and country, on the 3rd day of June 1794,
in the fourty fourth year of his age. His remains were interred
in the principal bastion of Fort Maltide, in the island of
Guadelope, in the conquering of which he bore a most
distinguished share, and which he commanded at his death. This
tablet was erected by his brother officers as a mark of their
high esteem for his many valuable qualities, and their regret for
his loss"
