Sarah Cracknell is the 31-year-old chanteuse extraordinaire with pop supergroup St Etienne. With a film director father and an actress mother, Sarah's always lead a glamourous life, and has been singing for years. She was discovered by bandmates Pete Wiggs and Bob Stanely when she was overhead singing "April Shower" from Disney's "Bambi" in a Burger King toilet in London! Sarah's career has gone from strength to strength, with St Etienne's release of their latest album, Good Humour, in May 1998. First release with St Etienne: "Nothing Can Stop us Now"
Other musical ventures: Released a few records (incl. "Fingertips" and "Heartspin") with LoveCut dB, a dance music collaboration. Rumour has it she had another musical incarnation before that, but she doesn't like to talk about it...Her first solo album, "Lipslide" was released in May 1997, following her only solo single release, "Anymore" in August 1996 (it reached #39)
Lives: In Shepherd's Bush, West London, W10. Her local pub is The William IV on Harrow Road, London.
Other work: Sarah part-owns a restaurant in Woolacombe, Devon, called the Red Barn. She goes down to Devon whenever she can as she loves the surf.
Grew up: In Windsor. Where the Queen lives.
Education: Convent school in Ascot, and then to stage school. Didn't get on at stage school, so eventually went back to Ascot.
Status: Single. Just finished with boyfriend of 7-years, Angus (who owns the Red Barn...)
Top totty: Tim Burgess, Robbie Williams, Mark Gardiner from Ride and Leonardo DiCaprio
Favourite animal: Cats. Her flat is full of cat memorabilia.
Food? She's a vegetarian, but loves Thai food - and eats out at Thai restaurants whenever she can.
Hobbies: Aside from the obvious, surfing and snowboarding. Her amibition for now is to snowboard a lot more!
Dream car: Late sixties Lotus Elan, or a Porsche 356B.
Collects: Handbags, records and cool second-hand clothes
