#1  Ralls Services Set for Mrs. Cora Foy (August 9, 1955)

Funeral services for Mrs. Cora Jefferson Foy, 89, 2812 38th Street, Lubbock, will be conducted at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Ralls Baptist Church with the Rev. R. C. Guest, Cone, and the Rev. George Dale, Lubbock, officiating.

Burial will be in the Old Emma Cemetery south of Ralls under direction of Rix Funeral Home.

Mrs. Foy, who had lived on the South Plains since 1923, died at 3:15 p.m. Monday at Goodnight Hospital.

Mrs. Foy had been in poor health about six years and had suffered three heart attacks in the last three months.  She was admitted in the hospital at 10:30 p.m. Sunday after suffering a heart attack an hour earlier.

Mrs. Foy and her daughter, Miss Peggy Foy, moved to Lubbock in 1944 from Ralls, where they had lived since 1923.


Mrs. Foy's husband, J. B. Foy, died in Canyon in 1917.  They had lived in McKinney after their marriage about 1881 in Rusk County where Mrs. Foy was born.

Survivors include four daughters:  Mrs. L. D. Ray, Odessa, Calif; Mrs. Earl Bramlett, Elizabeth, Colo; Mrs. Maude Dunn, Kennedy, and Miss Foy of Lubbock; and three sons, Jim Foy, Wichita Falls; Raymond Foy, Ralls; and Elbert Foy, address unknown.

She also is survived by 23 grandchildren, including Mrs. Mack Becton, 6108 Ave. Q; 44 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren.


#2 Mrs. Cora Foy Rites Slated Wednesday

Mrs. Cora Jefferson Foy, 89, 2812 36th Street, who had lived on the South Plains since 1923, died at 3:15 p.m. Monday at Goodnight Hospital.
