1|| HOW HIEI AND KURAMA MET
(According to Manga)

One day, Kurama and a girl classmate of his named Maya, was walking home together. Maya confessed to him that she loves him. Kurama kinda felt the same, but didn't tell her because if they are together, it could put her in danger. Suddenly, Hiei came out of nowhere and attacked Kurama. Maya was left on the street because Kurama suggest they fight somewhere else. Hiei thought that Kurama was Yutsade's lackeys, an eight-armed demon Hiei was hunting because he thought the demon ate Yukina, his sister. Kurama summoned swords from plants and ended up wounding Hiei. Kurama noticed Hiei was bleeding, so he took him home. Hiei apparently called out Yukina's name when he was resting. Kurama used demonic healing herbs to heal Hiei and asked for the youkai's name. So Hiei told him. Afterwards, Kurama received a phone call from a classmate of his saying that Maya was nowhere to be found. While Hiei and Kurama were fighting, one of the kids under Yatsude's control had kidnapped her and brought her to him. He planned on eating her. Kurama immediately searched for her and Hiei was quick to follow. They found the demon in an old factory. Hiei demanded that Yutsade tell him if he ate an ice maiden. Kurama wants to know Maya's whereabouts. Yutsade just laughed. Kurama attacked him, followed by Hiei. Still, they were not successful. Kurama decided to work with Hiei. Kurama attacked, and Yutsade got him first…only to find out it was a fake. Kurama and Hiei then sliced Yutsade in two: his head and his lower body. Yutsade was defeated and told Hiei that he did not eat any ice maidens and Maya is safe. Kurama carried Maya home on his back and told her it had all been a bad dream. She was still lovestruck, but Kurama vows she will never get involved again. Hiei decided Kurama was a chatterbox and asked for the boy's name. Kurama gave it and they met a year later, to steal the three artifacts of the Reikai. And so YYH continues…

2|| WHAT'S UP WITH HIEI AND KURAMA, ANYWAY?

Half of Yu Yu Hakusho fans like to believe that Hiei and Kurama has a yaoi (male/male) relationship and the other half believes their straight. There is no solid evidence to prove both of these beliefs. The author never specified their sexuality and left to us to wonder if they're really gay. First off, it seems that Hiei and Kurama always seem to be with each other and their faces expresses something towards one's action. And they always seem to understand and know what the other is thinking. Fanfic writers love to portray them as gay, which is fine. Others believe Kurama should be with Botan and Hiei with Mukuro. If those two do have a yaoi relationship, consider Kurama bisexual. (Remember Maya?) And if they're not, they are really good friends. Anyhow, this never fails to drive me crazy. And Karasu? He seems definitely gay the way he talks to and feels Kurama. Though it's still not sure…

3|| THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ANIME AND MANGA

Anime (ahn-ni-meh) was based on a word meaning animation, and the Japanese used the term to identify their unique type of animation. Anime had many genres ranging form romance to sheer terror kinds. Anime is a Japanese pop culture thing, but its popularity has spread across the borders through the decade. Yu Yu hakusho is currently aired in the Phillipines, the two YYH movies dubbed and recently released in the US by US Manga Corp. Sailor Moon, Dragonball, Pokemon, Vampire Hunter D has reached America and is obviously a big success. Most animes were based on mangas, or lengthy comic books by Japanese authors. They are also called "graphic novels." Most anime series are based on popular mangas or video games. There's not much of a difference, the anime is basically the same. However, animators tone down on its content to make it more suitable viewers. For example, Yuusuke smokes in the manga and we don't see that in the anime. Perhaps anime's popularity might help send out positive messages. Unlike cartoons, anime has ratings from G to XXX. Anime's characters are so real and captivating it has caused quite a stir on the worldwide web with fans creating fan-pages such as this one ^_^.
