"Geno Da Joker"

Deon D. Sims Sr. aka “Geno Da Joker”

After growing up on the cities southside in the lake park area. The 25 year old Chicago native has a lot to write about. At the young age of 15 he had already seen enough street life to start writing material about the daily goings on in his neighborhood.
His rap journey began as a member of the 6 man rap group KASH. Than later he moved on to form the rap duo Psycho-delic in 98’. He soon after met Tizone and things got serious.

Although some have compared him to Snoop Dogg. His pimp and gangster style lyrics have labeled him as a Chicago version of Too Short.      Like Too Short he lives what he writes about. His lyrics draw pictures of his everyday life and what he dreams of one day having.

He has been influenced by artist he says beat the odds, because of their size or other disabilities they might have had such as Biz Markie, the Fat Boyz, Heavy D., the late Biggie and the late Big Pun.  “The Fat Boyz didn’t care about how big or fat they were. They made people laugh with them not at them.” Gino added as he laughs.  Other inspirations came from Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, the Geto Boyz, NWA, and Ice Cube.

The Chicago Housing Projects were his stage where he has performed at numerous events in the Dearborns and the Robert Taylors Homes.
