TealGreenStone Vocal Trio:
"Voci di Primavera"
Sunday, April 23, 2006
2:30 pm

Wellsboro audiences will be treated to an outstanding vocal trio featuring two sopranos and a tenor in a program of seasonal music to warm the heart. The progam will consist of a journey from the Classics to Broadway, exploring through solo song, duets and trios, the age-old link between springtime and love.  Included will be songs and arias, duets and trios by such great operetta and musical composers as Emmerich Kalman, Franz Lehar, Victor Herbert, Sigmund Romberg, Rodgers & Hammerstein, and Lerner & Loewe.

The trio’s name, TealGreenStone, compresses the names of these brilliant artists and at the same time evokes the rich gem-like quality of their music. Soprano Jean-Anne Teal, after celebrating 20 years of performance in opera, oratorio and musicals on the stages of Europe, is now an associate professor of voice at Mansfield University. During the time she was fully dedicated to performance, Ms. Teal was privileged to sing over 55 roles in more than 1200 productions.

Her son, tenor Alex Greenshields, born in Austria, attended Bard College as a theater major and then moved to New York City to continue his studies and begin his career as a singer/actor.  Favorite roles include Mr. Snow in ‘Carousel’ at the Mac-Haydn Theatre (NY) and Frankie (‘Forever Plaid’) and Doolittle (“My Fair Lady’) with the Mt. Washington Valley Theater Company in New Hampshire.

Dramatic soprano Dorothy Stone Andrade has received rave reviews for her performances on the concert stage, in opera and operetta.  Her voice has been compared to the legendary Eileen Farrell and Helen Traubel.  Among her many credits, she was awarded a Paris Opera AROP career grant, and was the American representative to the International Tchaikovsky Competition, where she won the Foreign Language prize.  Recently she sang Beethoven’s ‘Ninth Symphony’ with the combined forces of the San Francisco Sinfonietta and the CMC Orchestra and Chorus.  In April 2005 she was soprano soloist in the Verdi ‘Requiem’ at Mansfield University.
