Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is January 15. Learn more about the man and his mission at Martin King Jr Day on the Net, a production of Holidays on the Net and view photos of Dr. King from Life Magazine at Martin Luther King, Jr. Tribute.

Here is a fun site for younger kids! Go to edbydesign.com for easy kids' activities including, my youngest son's favorite, Silver & Gold Pokemon Scramblers. The site also has Learning Resources which feature practical ideas and information that will inspire parents and teachers to give children a positive learning experience and a Special Needs Resource section for teachers, parents and anybody else interested in the field of special needs.

Happy New Year! Here is an unusual site for you to check out... 10 Acres Backyard. This website is run by a fith generation dairy and anyone can choose one of their Holstein cows and through their newsletter follow her progress. A great place where kids can learn and join in country life. Ask the farmer questions and learn about farm life.

Christmas will be here soon so I thought that I would give you a few places that are loaded with Christmas sites to visit. The first is Christmas! Christmas! Christmas! from Not Just for Kids!. This site is filled with Christmas pages that combine the Gospel story, traditions, and music of Christmas with stories and poems, activities, games, and recipes. It is a site for kids and their families. The second site is Christmas Celebration at Cuffs for Kids which is filled with crafts, safety tips, games, snow scenes and more. Enjoy looking at these sites while I try to get back on track at updating my web site.

Armed Forces Day is May 20th. "This is the day on which we have the welcome opportunity to pay special tribute to the men and women of the Armed Forces ... to all the individuals who are in the service of their country all over the world."

Queen Victoria was born on May 24th, 1819. Canada celebrates her birthday every year with Victoria Day. This year the official observance of Victoria Day is May 22.

May 5 is Kodomo-no-hi (Children's Day) in Japan. Kids' Japan is a place where kids between the ages of 4 and 16 from around the world and Japanese kids can meet and share ideas about anything relating to kids' activities in Japan. It is a place to learn about Japanese food, sports, stories and comics, toys and hobbies, social problems and anything else kids are interested in. Kids Web Japan is a site that introduces Japan to schoolchildren aged between 10 and 14 who live in other countries. To deepen understanding about Japan, they have tried to furnish information with many photographs and graphics. This site contains games, recipes, info about Japan and the Japanese culture, and more.

Easter will be here soon! Parents or teachers with preschool or kindergarten children should try these sites for things to do with their kids.
