Austin Choral Symposia
Singers ranging from high school students to church/community choir members to seasoned professionals have all been regular participants in the Symposia Choirs. There is no audition required, and singers enjoy the opportunity to meet new friends, strengthen and refine their musical skills, and achieve a level of personal fulfillment and superior performance quality seldom produced in such a setting. The Symposia offers a unique combination of informative seminars, solid vocal training and professional performance preparation. The short, yet enjoyably intense schedule make the Symposia very popular for those singers who choose not to make a long-term commitment to a choral group.
The Austin Choral Symposia announces its planned repertoire for its 2002 summer symposium: Johann Sebastian Bach's Passion According to St. John. The 2002 summer symposium will feature a series of rehearsals, and seminars culminating with two performances on August 22 and 23 at St. Louis Catholic Church, 7601 Burnet Road. You are invited by Artistic Director and Conductor Barry Scott Williamson to join the Symposium Chorus for a fascinating performance experience of this dramatic choral work by J. S. Bach.
