Plan of Salvation
Maybe you stumbled on this site by chance and are wondering what it means to be a Christian. We believe that nothing happens by chance and that the Lord has brought you to this moment in your life.
Becoming a Christian is as easy as opening a gift. That's really what it is - God's gift to us. Are you ready to receive it?
First, you must recognize that you are a sinner. "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." ~Romans 3:23~
Because of this sin, we are all condemned to eternal separation from God. "For the wages of sin is death. ~Romans 6:23~
There is so much more to this story! God loved you so much that He was not willing that you should be separated from Him. He sent His only Son to die in your place and take your sin upon Him, that you might have eternal life in Him. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life." ~John 3:16~
"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." ~Romans 5:8~
Secondly, you must repent of your sins. This simply means that you ask the Lord to forgive you. You may feel that the things you have done are unforgivable, or you feel unworthy. Remember Romans 3:23 - we have ALL sinned and are not worthy, but through God's amazing grace He forgives us and draws us to Himself.
Third, believe that Jesus is God's son and invite Him to live in your heart. "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." ~Romans 10:13~
Pray a prayer similar to this:
Lord I know that I am a sinner and that I need you in my life. Please forgive me for all of the wrong things I've done, wash me clean. I believe that you are the Son of God and that you died for my sins. I accept you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you for loving me, for forgiving my sins and for your gift of eternal life. Amen.
Praise the Lord, you are now a child of God! If you prayed this prayer and accepted the Lord, please e-mail us (ttimes@peoplepc.com) and let us know so we can pray with you for spiritual growth. There are a few steps you should take now that you have accepted Christ as your Savior.
1. Find a church that will help to nurture your new walk with the Lord.
2. Pray daily. The Lord cares about every detail of your life, from the big things to the small and knows what you need before you even ask. Tell Him what's on your heart. Thank Him.
3. Read the Bible. The Book of Acts is a good place to start. Ask the Lord to teach you through His Word.
We rejoice with you and are so thankful that you have made this new commitment!
"The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace." ~Numbers 6:24-26
