Autism Services of Mecklenburg County (ASMC). (North Carolina) (Under the guidance of an interdisciplinary team of professionals, residents receive specialized training in communication, recreation, appropriate social behavior, self-help, and community living skills. ASMC works closely with the Charlotte TEACCH Center to provide specialized evaluations and consultation for residents with autism.)

Autism Treatment Centers The mission of the Autism Treatment Center is to assist people with autism and related disorders throughout their lives as they learn, play, work and live in the community.

Bancroft NeuroHealth Neruobehavioral Stabilization Programs (Haddonfield New Jersey) (The Lindens Neurobehavioral Stabilization Program (children and adults This program is designed to help people with autism, brain injuries and other disabilities overcome severe behavioral problems through intensive treatment in a campus-based, secure residential setting. The Lindens combines two highly effective disciplines, behavioral anaylsis and neuropsychology to analyze and treat problem behaviors. This unique program offers a less expensive, more effective alternative to psychiatric hospitals, in a more natural, less restrictive environment. )

Boston Higashi School The International Program for Individuals with Autism (Boston Higashi School, Inc. is the international program serving children and young adults with autism.  Our philosophy is based upon the world renowned tenets of Daily Life Therapy developed by the late Dr. Kiyo Kitahara of Tokyo, Japan. Dr. Kiyo Kitahara's method provides children with systematic education through group dynamics, the intermingling of  academics and technology, arts, music and physical education.  The goal of this educational approach is for individuals to achieve social independence and dignity, and to benefit from and contribute to society. To enhance the understanding of autism through the implementation and application of Daily Life Therapy. Further, to promote autism education and research through the Higashi Institute for Professional Development.)

Camphill in North America ( Camphill is a worldwide movement dedicated to community living that supports and values the contributions of all community participants without regard to their financial assets, or their intellectual or physical capabilities. Camphill communities have taken up many tasks. Among the most prominent in North American communities are: 1. Providing education, advocacy, therapeutic care and other services to support people with special needs and help them participate fully in the world as contributing citizens; 2. Caring for and healing the earth, together with people with special needs, through sustainable and healthy methods consumption, of agriculture and use of natural resources; and 3. Creating new social arrangements and intentional relationships that nurture the growth and development of individuals and families, inwardly and outwardly.

The Center for Developmental Disabilities To help children and adults with differing abilities achieve their dreams by overcoming barriers to living, learning, working and recreating in the community of their choice. Founded in 1958 by parents of children with autism and/or developmental disabilities, today The Center serves more than 300 children and adults with differing abilities. It is committed to helping each person achieve their dreams.

The Center for Discovery Our Program is based on the simple but essential notion that children should be valued, motivated and challenged to learn. We have a number of beautiful locations in which to carryout this program.

Chileda Habilitation Institute (LaCrosse Wisconsin) (Welcome to the Chileda Habilitation Institute. We are a home and treatment center for children and young adults who have developmental disabilities due to closed head injuries, seizure disorders, cerebral palsy, autism, behavioral and genetic liabilities and physical handicaps. During 1998, the professional staff and volunteers of Chileda celebrated 25 years of progressive education and personal empowerment of children with developmental disabilities. Our dedicated staff is licensed to provide care for 42 individuals in an intensive, caring treatment program. We help our clients to realize their fullest potential... and offer hope for a bright future.)

Crestwood Children's Center

Crotched Mountain Crotched Mountain is a charitable organization employing more than 900 people, whose mission is to serve individuals with disabilities and their families, embracing personal choice and development, and building communities of mutual support. Crotched Mountain provides specialized education, rehabilitation, community, and residential support services for more than 2,000 consumers, including individuals with disabilities and the elderly, living in New England and New York.

CSAAC's Residential Program (The Residential Program provides housing in Montgomery County, Maryland for adults (21 years or older) with autism. Their homes give them an alternative to living in an institution or in their parents' homes, and allow them to exercise some independence as adults.)

Developmental Disabilities Institute Developmental Disabilities Institute (DDI) today stands as a testimonial to those parents as the Long Island Regional Center of Excellence for Individuals with Autism and other developmentally disabled individuals with severely challenging behaviors. DDI is a multi-site facility with regional responsibilities as both the Long Island designees of the New York Autism Network (NYAN) and the Long Island Crisis Response Team of the Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities (OMRDD). The New York Autism Network is a statewide coalition established by the New York State Department of Education to identify and implement effective inclusionary educational programs for children and adults with Autism and related disorders.

DEVEREUX FOUNDATION (Approximately 20 centers throughout the United States) (THE PURPOSE OF THE DEVEREUX FOUNDATION is to provide high-quality human services to children, adults, and families with special needs which derive from behavioral, psychological, intellectual or neurological impairments. Services will be provided in a caring and humane way to foster human potential and to contribute to the person's health, social, psychological, and educational well-being. The programs will be of such excellence that they may become models for this and other nations.)

The Eden Family of Services (Eden, a New Jersey-based nonprofit organization, was founded in 1975 with a unique mission - to meet the lifespan needs of individuals with autism. Parents and professionals alike joined together to develop a family oriented, multifaceted program with a well-trained and dedicated faculty. Inherent in Eden's founding was the commitment to provide a cost-effective, community-based alternative to institutionalization and to offer programming that would meet the changing needs of children and adults with autism. )

Glenwood Mental Health Services (Birmingham Alabama) (Each day, children and adults who are autistic, mentally ill or emotionally conflicted can live, learn, work and play under the guidance and protection of Glenwood Mental Health Services. Glenwood is an ever-evolving mental health agency that has established treatment programs to meet the unique needs of clients and their families. )

Herbert G. Birch Services (New York Metro Area) (From one small school for children established over 20 years ago, Birch Services has grown substantially to include the School for Exceptional Children, Early Childhood Centers, community, and residential services in the New York metropolitan area, as well as the Birch Family Camp.)

Independent Living

Indiana Developmental Training Center (Indianapolis and Lafayette) (Indiana Developmental Training Center is a highly respected and recognized provider of services to those in need, specializing in residential and school programming for children and adolescents with dually diagnosed developmental disabilities and emotional disturbances. IDTC operates intensive residential care and total treatment services 24 hours a day 365 days a year at sites in Indianapolis and Lafayette. We serve both males and females, ages 6 to 21. Genetic disorders, seizures and other neurological handicaps are specific areas of expertise)

Judevine Center for Autism Judevine Center for Autism currently supports individuals with autism spectrum disorders in 26 different living arrangements throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area. Around-the-clock support is available for persons, as needed. Staff-to-client ratios tend to be 1:1 to 1:3. Treatment within residential services is largely individualized, but in general emphasizes the following: enhancing communication skills, decreasing challenging behaviors, increasing independence, teaching skills that reflect the normal rhythm of life, and fostering community membership.

Kidspeace KidsPeace is a private, not-for-profit charity dedicated to serving the critical behavioral and mental health needs of children, preadolescents and teens. Since 1882, KidsPeace has been helping kids develop the confidence and skills they need to overcome crisis. KidsPeace provides specialized residential treatment services and a comprehensive range of treatment programs and educational services to help families help kids anticipate and avoid crisis whenever possible.

Linwood Center Linwood Center is approved by the Maryland State Department of Education to operate a nonpublic educational program, providing full day and residential special education and related services for students with autism, ages 9 through 21.

Maryhaven Center of Hope For more than 70 years, Maryhaven Center of Hope has been assisting children, adults and senior citizens with disabilities. As one of the largest and most innovative multi-service agencies on Long Island, we support more than 2000 consumers of all faiths who range in age from 5 to 80. With programs and services that focus on the potential—not limitations—of people with special needs, we are able to build confidence, improve self-esteem and encourage community integration.

May Institute For 50 years, the caring professionals of the May Institute have set a national standard for providing comprehensive, research-validated services to children and adults with autism, brain injury, mental retardation, pervasive developmental disorder (PDD), and behavioral healthcare needs.

McGuire Memorial McGuire Memorial, a ministry of the Felician Sisters located in Western Pennsylvania, provides outstanding educational and therapeutic services for individuals from pre-school through adulthood with mental retardation who may be medically fragile, and other developmental disabilities which may include cerebral palsy, and autism. Services and supports include main campus residential, community homes, respite care, a licensed School, and adult day programs.

Melmark Melmark, a comprehensive multi- service agency, provides residential, educational, therapeutic, and recreational services for children and adults with developmental disabilities in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts.

NAPSEC (Serving Individuals with Disabilities and Their Families Since 1971. The National Association of Private Schools for Exceptional Children is a nonprofit association whose mission is to ensure access for individuals to private special education as a vital component of the continuum of appropriate placement and services in American education. The association consists solely of private special education schools that serve both privately and publicly placed individuals with disabilities.)

National Association of Residential Providers for Adults with Autism The purpose adopted for the new organization is to assure the availability of residential services and other supports for adults with autism throughout their lives.

Pacific Autism Center for Education (California) (PACE is a private not-for-profit agency dedicated to providing residential and educational programs for children and young adults who suffer from autism and severe developmental disabilities, ages 3-59+.  PACE owns and operates 5 residential group homes for children and adults in Cupertino, Sunnyvale and San Jose, California.  PACE also operates a special education Non-Public school where our clients learn communication skills, adaptive behaviors skills, academics and independent living skills. Each student's program is tailored to meet their individual needs.  PACE employs three Occupational Therapists and three Speech Therapists to provide necessary services requested and  required by their district of residence school.)

The Pathway School he Pathway School is a unique institution known for its multi-sensory approach to instruction, utilizing a combination of clinical, behavioral and educational specialists to meet individual learning and behavior needs. Pathway provides a comprehensive program of services for children between the ages of 9 and 21 for whom mainstream public and private school education is insufficient to meet their needs. These youngsters display severe neuropsychiatric disorders and complex learning issues necessitating focused learning environments.

Perkins School The agency provides exceptional programs in day treatment, child and adolescent residential services, after school community programs, and behavioral health consultation for school systems, child welfare agencies, and families.

Philhaven Philhaven is a non-profit behavioral healthcare organization offering a wide range of services for children, adolescents, adults and older adults in south central Pennsylvania. Founded in 1952, Philhaven provides professional behavioral healthcare services in an atmosphere of Christian love and care.

Pressley Ridge Pressley Ridge is a 172-year-old nonprofit agency. Today, we provide an array of social services, special education programs, and mental health services for troubled children and their families in Delaware, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, DC and West Virginia, as well as worldwide.
