07.19 Sunday Day 30
As is becoming the standard, another beautiful day. Weather-wise, sunny, windy, and hot. Activities-wise, there were plenty!
I sailed all the way, anchor to anchor, to the store in Squirrel Cove, where I mailed the letters (bills etc) Once I dropped anchor in the middle of Squirrel Cove, I decided to drop the mast, once the wind
would abate. So, I spent over an hour stripping the rigging and installing a block by the stay from where I would drop the mast.
I then moved near the shore and tried toget some help as I knew I couldn't 'raise' the mast, not by myself. I could lower it alone but, even that was risky. Unfortunately, I couldn't get any help so, by eight o'clock, I re-assembled the whole thing, took the stern line aboard and decided to forego the attempt!
I worked on some lines for the docking etc and tidied up around. Then, I sat in the cockpit and dreamed about that big sailboat and what a season we'd have with it, both Jules and I. I thought I could never get rid of Y-Knot but, the more I think about a boat in the 33/36 foot range, the easier I get used to the idea. But it sure won't be the same. We'll have to wait and see before I finalize the deal.

Then I read for a while and hit the sack early because I want to leave early in the morning and try to catch the low tide at the public wharf then try to at least run a line for the staysail. As for the VHF, we'll see if I can reach the top of the mast from the dock. I doubt it.
There are now mosquitos in this cove so I will button up and re-enter my cocoon after I sprayed the cabin. The weather seems to turn sour. I hope it is only temporary.
