07.05 Sunday
Hit the sack around eleven last night and slept right till 0830 this
morning. Seemed to have rained all night. I once woke up and looked
outside. it was eerie as all hell! Very low-lying clouds all around the
bay, covering all the mountain tops. Very eerie but beautiful in its
own way. This is one night I would not have wanted to be out sailing
or motoring.
1300 Had a very busy morning. Re-arranged the entire set-up. looks
much more practical that way. I'm pretty sure I'll be comfy on the
quarter-berth tonight. I also found the snag with the VHF. it was one
of the connectors at the base of the mast, the one nearest the bow. I
will have to redo that one and the sooner, the better. I also did
another wash.I will have to wait till tomorrow to have the sun help me
dry the whole wash, which means I will probably stay here tomorrow
night also. At the rate things are going, I doubt to make it to the
Sound on this first trip. I intend to call Georgette this week and offer
her to come see Princess Louisa this month, around the 12th, maybe.
Then, if she takes only two weeks off, I would go straight to
Desolation during August.
Y-Knot at anchor - Hotham Sound
Someone came looking around in a tender that was worth probably more
than Y-Knot is! I would like to see the mother ship It came from. But
no one else has shown up yet. This is indeed a quiet and, apparently,
an unknown anchorage. Hope it stays that way. It is raining steadily and
a little damp in the boat. I hope we don't hit too much of that weather
when Georgette comes because she might get turned off from sailing for
good. I hope not. But if we do, I'll heat the boat up continuously.
2000 Been lousy all day. Heavy rain mixed with showers and drizzle.
Rest of the time: foggy and muggy. Oh well, as they say, you can't have
it all. But these last three days have been as miserable, weather-wise
as the previous thirteen had been gorgeous. And there is no
foreseeable sunshine for days to come, which will create havoc with the
Sunshine Coast reputation.
2115 Hitting the sack, in the V-berth. Goodnight world.
