My True Love

Mike and I met online around May 1998, we just chit/chatted about where we were from due to both of us being from NY State nothing serious.This went on for some time until September 1998.

On Labor day we had a very bad storm that destroyed everything in its path. It affected a huge area from Syracuse (where Mike lives) to Cooperstown (I lived in between these 2 areas). We were without power where I lived for a week for Mike it was longer.

When power was restored Mike wandered into the same mIRC room I happened to be in and we began talking about the storm. That talk started it all. We talked for quite awhile that night and had fun really getting to know eachother.
Not long after we began talking more & more. We went from talking now and then to weekley then one night we were talking and Mike said he didn't have to work the next day and didn't know what he was going to do with himself, since I had the day off to we decided to spend the day together on line. We had so much fun that day we knew we were going to be great friends. We had so much in common and could make eachother laugh so easily.
Halloween was fun for us too, by now our weekley chats were up to 2-3 nights a week and we were becoming closer on Halloween Mike was in the room under a different nickname so I decided to play dress-up too (changing my nick) as you can guess we knew instantly who the other one was.
By Thanksgiving our talks had advanced to nightly. I don't remember who brought it up but we decided it was time we met in person.

On December 16, 1998 Mike and I met at the Turning Stone Casino it was a half way point between our homes. The minute I saw this guy walking toward me I knew it was him. I was so nervous I remember peeking at him and saying "HI". Next thing I remember is giving/recieving the biggest hug I'd ever gotten. We walked around then sat and talked for 3 hours, having alot of fun. Mike walked me to my car where I had a Christmas present waiting for him (a small Harley-Davidson teddy bear and a Hershey's Kiss). We then walked to his car where he had a gift for me (a Gold colored Slinky). For a long time slinkies have been a joke between us. We agreed not to open our gifts until we got home then meet later online.
Funny I still don't remember driving home.
That was the start of what we have today.
Mike came to my house to meet my family and shortly after that I went to meet his brother.
Valentines day was very special for us. Mike came to my Mom's house to stay for a couple days. That's also when I asked him for help: thing at work were not going great for me and I wanted to know what he thought if I were to cut back my hours, He said he'd support me knowing how bad things were going for me there.
He'd just gotten a new apartment and wanted me to come see it and help him decorate a bit.
That was in Feb. neither of us is sure how or exactly when it happened but we began living together in that apartment and loving every minute of it. It's hard to be away from each other when I stay at my mom's 1 or 2 nights a week.
We never imagined back in September or even in December that this would happen but we're both so happy that it did.
I never in my wildest dreams thought I'd meet the man I want to spend the rest of my life with over a computer chat server. But it's true.
Mike & I were married September 23, 2000.
