About Ben and Martha Jo...
Ben and Martha Jo Maddox joined Shamrock Road Riders in 1997. They ride a blue and white 1993 GL1500SE. They had their wing converted to a trike following an accident in the North Georgia mountains in June, 1997, while enroute to the Georgia District Rally in Hiawassee. Ken's Cycle in Alabama repaired the damaged gold wing and converted it to a trike.
Ben and Martha Jo will celebrate their 43rd anniversay on June 1, 2000. They have three children, Jeff, Tim, and Cheryl. Jeff lives in Macon, GA, and works with computers. Tim has managed Maddox Used Auto Parts since Ben and Martha Jo's accident. Cheryl also works in the family business and does the book work.
The Maddoxes have EIGHT GRAND CHILDREN, six girls and two boys. They are looking forward to the arrival of their first GREAT grand child on June 3rd. (Maybe the first for Ben's 62nd birthday!) The new arrival will be named Jonathan Brooks Sweat, and Ben and Martha Jo are eagerly awaiting his arrival, along with his other great grand parents, Al and Frances Starley.

Ben and Martha Jo currently serve as Ride Coordinators for the Shamrock Road Riders. Martha Jo also does a super job of manning the phones to keep everybody up-to-date on last minute happenings, and has unofficially had her name changed to Martha "GO" by her chapter family. Thanks for the kind words, Ben and Martha Jo, the feelings are mutual!
