David Schroder, 1923-2001

Friends and fellow motorcyclists mourn the passing of David Schroder, 78, long time motorcyclist and GWRRA member. David participated with a number of Georgia GWRRA Chapters, including Dublin, Hawkinsville, Statesboro, and the former Vidalia chapter. David passed away Wednesday morning, August 15. He will be deeply missed.

The following is David's biography which was posted on our A-2 Website:

David Schroder, affectionately known as "the old fart," is the grand ol' man of motorcycling in these parts. David reports that he has been riding motorcycles since 1944, and has owned sixteen motorcycles over the years. His current rides are a Pacific Coast and an Ace Tourer. David owned a beautiful GL1200 until someone recently made him an "offer he just couldn't refuse." As a matter of fact, motorcycles are David's only means of transportation!

Being retired gives David plenty of time for riding, and his favorite rides are to the mountains. His favorite rally is the NC District Rally. Actually, David tells us his other hobbies are camping and eating, so he spends a lot of time on motorcycle camping trips.

Really we've all found that if you'll call David up and tell him when and where to meet for a ride, he probably won't even ask where you're going, he'll be there!"

Happy riding, David, and Godspeed. We miss you.
