Welcome to my homepage.
This page is basicly a sailing page. I sail a Grampian 26' sloop
on eastern Lake Ontario. There are some pictures of my boat and of
some of my favorite places. I will be adding to this on a regular
basis.
Lake Ontario is one of the Great Lakes and flows into the
St. Lawerance River. The area at the mouth of the river is known as
theThousand Islands..(famous for the salad dressing).
A spectacular boating and fishing area known for it's bass and lake
trout. With a prevailing SW wind the sailing is also excelent and
there are many secluded anchorages as well as villages with dockage
and entertainment. With the long winters there is limited time for
boating, but the beauty of the area makes up for some of it. There
are many more than one thousand islands in the area and the water is
crystal clear, adding to the beauty.
The water has cleared in the past six years possibly due to the
introduction of Zebra Muscles to the waters of the Great Lakes by
ocean going freighters emptying their ballast.
