Thanksgiving Day

Lord I come to bow before you this day.
I know I have a bag of sins for which to pay.
You know my soul, spirit and heart.
You know for you breathed life into me from the start.

I'm thankful for the air I breathe each day.
I'm so thankful for the freedom to just kneel and pray.
I know I am thoughtless and I forget
But I remember the first day we met.

I have walk for years down this narrow road.
You have carried all my burdens and heavy loads.
From a child I heard about the Bible and You.
I learned about David and Goliath too.

I cried when I saw You nailed on the cross.
I am humbled when I think of the cost
You were willing to take the sins of all.
You stood silently when judged in Pilot's hall.

You carried your own cross to Calvary
And Lord I know You did it for me.
So this Thanksgiving Day I want you to know.
I'll continue walking for I have many seeds still to sow.

Forgive my sins and remember me night and day.
Nudge me back when I begin to stray.
Keep me pure with perfect love and peace
Remind me daily Your love will never cease.

Thank You again for another Thanksgiving Day
I'll see You one day in heaven I pray!
