Newsletter October Greetings from all of us at River's Edge. We're glad you decided to check out the web page. As you can see, we have been very busy updating the site. Be sure to click on the Guest Book link on the Home Page and leave us a message. This newsletter will be updated periodically to keep you informed on what we have been up to. Doug Martens joined the band on October 16, 1999. We needed a substitute bassist for a show at Miller's in Ripon that weekend. Doug had to learn a lot of music in just a few days. Since Jim Elst was leaving the band, we decided to hire Doug permanently. With the addition of Doug on bass, we added a lot of equipment doubling the size of our sound system. We added some new song's to the set list including some original material. Our goal is to lay down some good tracks and release a CD soon. Its a long process, but we're having a great time doing it. On January 28, the band played for the first time at City Limits in Menasha. People were partying hard and dancing on the bar. We'll be back. If you are in the DePere area on March 18th, we will be playing at another new club called Binny's. Hope to see some new faces as well as some old ones there. February 4 - The band played at the Edison Club in Antigo. It was a cold ride in the truck. Nice to see some other bands, Duster and Area 51, at the show. Antigo Rocks! February 12, The Blue Goose. It was Doug's first show at the Goose and he found out what its like to sample the 'Blue Goose Juice'. February 19, Leap In. The snowmobilers kept the place packed. Donna was a blast, can't wait to play there again.
