ABOUT IHSA SHOWSIHSA Horse shows are held throughout the fall and spring semesters. There are a maximum of ten shows per discipline for the regular season. Riders can compete in either the Hunt Seat discipline, or the Stock Seat discipline, or both. Riders will be randomly paired (by drawing) to a horse provided by the show's host college. Riders may not use their own tack, nor are they permitted to "warm-up" or "school" the horse prior to entering the ring. The Intercollegiate Horse Show Association promotes competition for riders of any skill level. Riders compete individually for points throughout the season, hoping to qualify for the Regional competition held in the Spring semester. The top three riders in each class at Regionals qualifies for the Zone competition. The top two riders in each class at Zones qualified for the IHSA National Competition. Nationals are held annually during the first weekend in May. Judges for IHSA Hunt Seat shows must be a recognized AHSA judge in the division he is to judge. Judges for the IHSA Stock Seat shows must be selected from the AQHA list of judges. Standards & Ethics Committee 2007 - 2008 Heather Clark
