Tears
He sat for a long time, watching the shadows fall.
Then, footsteps.
He could smell her scent before she reached him.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing."
She saw the tears in his eyes and startled.
Silence.
She didn't know what to do, he thought, because only boys comfort girls from crying.
Then he started crying in earnest.
