Staff Structure of seaQuest Fanfiction Development Organiztion

Purpose
     To preserve and, with great hope, promote the seaQuest universe for all peoples who may enjoy its positive outlook of the future and the scientific exploration of the greatest depths of the seas.

Phase I:  Series Launch
Provisional Staff
Starting staff of series.  Will choose the basic direction of the series.  Will create both a series “bible” and the Pilot episode.  The Provisional Staff will consist of two ranks.  Captains and a Secretary General.  This is altogether temporary until completion of the “bible” and Pilot episode.  Upon completion of the “bible” and Pilot episode the Secretary General will step-down from position to hold a lifetime rank of Captain.  He will be succeeded by the oldest Provisional Captain.  At this time all powers of the Secretary General will be reduced to the counting of votes and maintaining relations with series fans.  We will then proceed on to Phase II of the series and all functions contained therein.

Provisional Secretary General Powers-     Ability to veto any submitted episode idea and/or addition to series bible and/or graphics or 3d models.

Provisional Captains-     Produce series bible and/or Pilot Episode and/or series “bible”

Phase II:  Series Production
Staff Hierarchy
Commanders
Anyone who submits an idea to any currently existing staff member that is used in any modified and/or original format in any given episode that is approved of by the Admirality.
Task-To supply ideas to the Captains for use in and/or creation of episodes.
Terms of Membership-Provided upon approval of story with the enclosed submitted idea.
Membership Term-Lifetime membership unless ousted by a 2/3rds majority of the Admirality.

Captains
Anyone who works assisted or unassisted to write or edit a full-length episode that is approved by the Admirality or anyone who creates graphics or 3d models that are of quality worthy of placing on the website or anyone who routinely updates the website and checks the forums for violators of the rules.
Task-To write episodes and/or create graphics or 3d models and/or routinely update and maintain the website.
Terms of Membership-Provided upon approval of written episode.
Term-Lifetime membership unless ousted by a 2/3rds majority of the Admirality.

Admirals
Anyone who has written two full-length episodes that has been selected by the Captains and Commanders to become an admiral
Task-To approve or deny the writing of episodes based on existing series story arch as outlined in the series “bible.”  It will also be the right of the Admirals to check-up on the Captains to insure the correct and proper procession of production of all materials to be produced, such as, episodes, graphics or 3d models, and routine maintenance of the website.
Terms of Membership-Provided upon counting of votes by the Secretary General.
Membership Term-One season unless impeached by Captains (Commanders excluded)

Secretary General
Longest existing member of the staff.
Task-To count votes and maintain relations with series fans.
Terms of Membership-Provided upon resignation or impeachment of previous Secretary General.
Membership Term-Lifetime until resignation or Impeachment.

Voting
Choosing Admirality
The number of Admirals per season will be determined by the number of members.  One Admiral for every three staff members of any rank(includes Secretary General)The Secretary General will inform all staff of a deadline date set two weeks after mail-out informing staff of upcoming vote.  Once that deadline has been reached all accepted votes will be counted and delivered the following day by the Secretary General and posted on the Staff Only Forum and then posted in the Public Forum the following day.  The Secretary General has one vote.  If there is a tie, the Secretary General will inform the staff and then interview the two(or more) members that tied and then choose based on his findings.

Choosing Episodes
The Captains are responsible for submitting episode ideas to the Admirals.  The captain who submits an episode idea must send the episode idea to all Admirals and the Secretary General.  Admirals will review and vote on submitted episode ideas on a first come, first serve basis.  The Secretary General will inform all staff of a deadline date set one weeks after mail-out informing Admirals of upcoming vote.  Once that deadline has been reached all accepted votes will be counted and delivered the following day by the Secretary General and posted on the Staff Only Forum.  The Secretary General has one vote.  If there is a tie, the Secretary General will inform the staff and then review the two(or more) episode ideas that tied and then choose based on his findings.


Phase III:  Series Finale
To be decided upon by the Admirals.
