 WELCOME TO THE SAO PAULO A COURGAR CLASS STARSHIP.  Experimental Cougar Class vessel. A heavily armed corvette. Primarily to be used as a border patrol ship, the Cougar Class is still being considered by Starfleet Command for mass production. The USS Cougar, after being completed will be sent to the front lines of the Dominion War to see how it fares in battle. If the results are promising, then the Cougar Class will replace the larger Steamrunner Class for border patrol. The Cougar Class is a classified design. Warp nacelles can detach to form independent warp capable fighters. When in "Detached Mode" a small warp nacelle will protrude from the underbelly of the detached saucer to give it warp power. Stardrive Section will only rely upon its impulse engines. NOTE: Highly experimental. Multiple failures in holographic simulations at this point. This "special ability" is a slightly less advanced form of the USS Prometheus' Multi-Vector Assault Mode. A type 9 shuttlecraft has a top speed a warp 4 and is used for salvage and scouting missions, and it may even be considered a fighter, but that is unconfirmed.
